The Wine estate has 9 hectares of vineyards with:
  • 4,5 hectares of red wine varietal in the Bolgheri DOC, along to the Aurelia motorway
  • 4,5 hectares of white and red wine varietal Tuscan IGT in the surrounding countryside area

The wine cellar

The cellar is located in Donoratico and it covers 700 square meters. The processes of vinification, bottling and storage are performed in the cellar. The tanks for the vinification are made with steel, they have several sizes to keep separate the grapes with different charateristics to make the vinification process smoothless.
The capacity of the wine cellar is 1700 hl, only considering the steel tanks. In addition, the cellar has 90 barriques, each with a capacity of 225 litres, with different years, all of them made with French durmast *
The grapes are carried into the cellar with small boxes. The grapes pass by fall into the crusher machine with rubber rollers to ensure a soft pressing process.
We are now building a new wine cellar, within the 4.5 hectares of Bolgheri DOC vineyards. The new cellar will give us the opportunity to improve our technics of grape harvest and vinification process.

I TIRRENI

I Tirreni” is one of the names that the Greeks gave to the people leaving by the Coast: the Etruscans.
The Etruscans were capable sailors, pirates, but also expert wine producers and merchants. Their boats cut through the sea with flags showing dolphins.
The company logo comes from a greek mith about the Tirrenian people. The mith tells the story of the semi-God Bacchus who was hosted by an Etruscan boat during his sailing of the Mediterranean sea. Bacchus was then made prisoner by the Tirrenians and tied to the main mast of the boat as they wanted to take advantage of the wine production and trade. Suddenly, it started blowing strong winds against the boat, the boat’s wheel were turned into grapevine sprouts and the ropes were turned into snakes. Being terrified by the storm, the sailors jumped into the sea and they were turned into dolphins by Bacchus to save them.
